Digital Recruitment Process

Evonik was struggling with brand awareness from a standard and manual recruitment process. A complete redesign resulted in a mobile device-based process that increased the number of recruits by a factor of 8.

The Challenge

Evonik Singapore’s HR department struggling to build brand awareness among students and young professionals. With an upcoming job fair, they turned to Reppel & Partners to develop a digital program to attract candidates to the company’s booth and attendees at the job fair.

The Solution

Bringing together an agile team of stakeholders from Evonik, an external implementation partner, and R&P, we developed a digital program that included a mobile application, branded beacons and a lighthouse station in the exhibition hall to attract candidates. Visitors were able to connect to a branded network and were encouraged to download the application and engage with Evonik recruiters through gamification. Not only did the number of visitors increase by a factor of 8, but by playing the game, applicants provided useful insights to recruiters, allowing them to focus on the right candidates.

Within a short 6-week timeframe, a newly digitized recruiting process went from discussion to life. This digital and programmatic process allows Evonik to be agile and present its brand as forward-thinking and innovative.
